Sicilian Defense Chess Books. Chess Books» Sicilian Defense; The Sicilian (1. e4 c5) is the most played chess opening nowadays. First analysed in the 17th century in some depth by a Sicilian priest, it has been a strong way to meet 1. e4 ever since, directly challenging the centre of the board. This book of over short games, with + diagrams, annotations, and opening indexes, this book provides a myriad of complete games to help you learn the system and avoid the traps that can ensnare both sides. The miniatures are easy to play over; no game is over 25 moves. Mr.

This book will entertain you. Exactly main games all of which are 25 moves or less is the foundation. In addition to the main games, you will find numerous miniatures and part games included in the notes, along with many other complete games. The subject of this book is the Fianchetto Variation of the Queen’s Indian Defense, which arises after 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3 b6 4.g3. The Queen’s Indian as a whole has been played consistently since its invention by Aron Nimzowitsch in the early years of the 20th century and it remains a very popular opening at all levels.

This book is a collection of games played in the Najdorf Sicilian. The purpose is not to be exhaustive, that would require at least ten times the content of the pages of this book, and then it would even been a fraction of the analyses and relevant games in this opening. This book also does not suggest a repertoire for either black or white. When various editions are different enough to be considered as nearly a different book, for example for opening encyclopedias when each edition is completely revised and has even different authors (example: Modern Chess Openings). Also for ultra sharp and tactical play I recommend the Sicilian Dragon. There are 2 books I can recommend: Winning with the Sicilian Dragon 2 by Ward, and Play the Sicilian.

'The Sicilian' was the book that introduced me to the writings of Mario Puzo and it is an absolute page-turner. Puzo narrates a stunning tale of adventure, treachery, bloodshed, love and justice set in a post-war Sicilian landscape with so much flair and mastery over storytelling.4/5.
